Discussion in 'On Topic' started by Crave McSteak, Aug 3, 2009.

  1. Are there seperate state laws for selling a firearm?

I'm looking to sell my g19, but not sure how to do it. (tx)

Can't sell out of state unless it's sent to an FFL. Make sure that the FFL you are sending it to accepts from private parties If so handguns must be shipped UPS Next Day Air, if not have your FFL send it to their FFL, FFL's can ship via USPS so it's much cheaper

Can sell to private person face to face but that depends on your state laws.

In Texas you can sell face to face with a simple exchange of money for gun. Many people will want a bill of sale just to prove that the gun is no longer in their possession but it's not required. Some go so far as to ask for CHL number and/or DL info. At the very least, you might just verify that the person is 21 to purchase a handgun. In the last year I've bought and sold 5 or 6 guns face to face and they've all been quick cash or trade transactions.

You shouldn't have any trouble finding a buyer for a G19. Post it up on TexasGunTrader.com with a decent price and it will be gone in a day.

honestly, why even bother asking? If the guy has a felony conviction you=fucked. But why would you even think about selling a firearm to someone with a criminal record, even it's not a felony.?
