Law dog's MT and BJJ Schedule

    Wednesday:

    2 hour MT class:

    I started out 30 min prior with a light chest routine on weights.
    2 work outs and warmed up on the bag for 15 minutes.

    Talked to Eric and Nico about new combo patterns before class:
    1:jab to face, cross to mid section, hook to body/back
    2. cross to body, hook to head
    3 follow up with distancing head kick

    started class with Burpies 5 min

    Partnered with Asian guy from Canada kick boxing: Pink Tiger or some gay name.

    began drills with light sparring: soon escalated to 80-90% roughhousing
    Used my distance thwart his offense.
    his stance was wide so I could nail is front leg with sweeping kick/trip
    caughthim many times with jab/cross kick to the point where i stopped using it.

    went to neck wrestling: same partner
    allowed him to go half and half, my arm in, his arm in.
    destroyed him -- need to work on inside/outside movement, allowing one hand in and one hand out control.

    bag work -- talked to 9mm about making my right hook better (feels weak).
    9mm thinks i should keep my elbow WAY up because it sags when i get tired.

    worked knees from straight up to knees to outside.

    did MT pads:

    just need to keep guard up, relax and keep my elbow up on hooks.

    TIRED -- no cardio.

    MT 1 hour class with scotty

    Quick bag work before class --
    worked on snapping over punches
    worked on turning my hip over before I kick (roundkick) [THIS IS A HUGE BREAKTHROUGH]

    Started class and shadow boxed for 8 minutes -
    knees, elbows, push kicks

    Drills: held thai pads first -- got winded :(

    My turn:
    jab - elbow
    *sit ups*
    jab - elbow - (grab head) left knee
    *clinch knees*
    jab - elbow - (grab head) right knee
    *clinch knees*
    jab - cross - round house knee left knee (no head grab)
    *clich knees*
    jab - cross - round house knee switch step to front knee (no head grab)

    I WAS FUCKING GASSED BY THIS POINT -- Checkii knows how I get when gassed

    Finished strong - felt great after practice

    Muay Thai team is meeting on thursday at 730! First meeting!

    3.27.08 Muay Thai Team Training

    7:30: Kettle bells for 30min. (I was fucking BEAT after this, very sore the day after)

    8:00 -- got on full gear. Loosened up in the cage --
    Light sparring for 4 rounds with big mexican dude -- got tired

    Switched partners:

    Sparred with some "JKD" guy who sucked, took it easy but still felt tired.

    Switched Partners:

    Sparred with Nico, I think his technique is a lot better than mine, but I was finding that I could beat him to step outside and catch him with leg kicks.

    Also, I found that I could fake him out with feint leg kicks to punches back to leg kicks.

    *need to keep my hands up at all times*

    Shadowboxed for 10 minutes
    Hit the bag under scottys discretion
