We just launched a new client this morning, would love some feedback on it :)

    http://www.guthriebrothers.com

The only thing still in question is a myspace link right now, the link goes straight to myspace until they have a page up.

    Thanks :)

looks good but all the images are jpg and png, I understand why you did it with the rollovers, but you can change a lot of those to gif and it will load faster.

I like it, is the MySpace button supposed to link to the myspace main page or to their profile? It just goes to the main page right now.

One of the biggest struggles of this site was image consistency. For some reason, when dealing with original gifs and jpgs throughout the site, the images appeared very distorted on various platforms/browers. MAC was messing with the Gamma settings, and there wasn't much I could do.

The timeline was running out and we just had to finish it, but yeah its definitely one of the things that "urks" me about this project.

When they build their own myspace page we will link it up for them, until then we just have it as a basic link for now, since we can't simply comment it out due to the complexity of the top navigation.

Unfortunately, since this project was published by the firm I work for and not directly by me as freelance, I cannot say what it was quoted at.

Thanks all for the input :)

looks good bro, but i was expecting the lighter area under the "home" link to move to under the other menu options as i moused over them.
i know it's there to advise what page you're currently on, but it looks awkward to me

    Could you quote $xxx / $xxxx / $xxxxx, no specifics?

I thought the text was a bit hard to read at times; either too small, or not enough contrast with the background.

I didn't like the navigation fly-out menus, but that could just be my personal preference.

The music player -- couldn't you have gotten something simpler, like the way Jonathan Coulton does his? A simple start/stop Flash button?

    Overall looks nice, though.

We did not want to incorporate anything flash in the website, so we opted for the simple quicktime player. Since we are also a Animation/Production company, we do a lot with quicktime so it was just our preference at the time.

How about a figure you would quote it as if you WERE doing it freelance...hypothetical you know?

If you'd like more information strictly regarding pricing email me at [email protected] please.

I don't like posting too much about projects online, only because search engines tend to remember these posts when crawling for the client name...

I once put a website up for review and the client itself googled their name, found my post, then thought that I should listen to every single change that people were suggesting in my forum post. Got out of control, ya know? :)

It was quite the rude awakening let me tell you. Some ways around it are just posting the domain name in your thread (like I did here), and not directly titling the post with the client's name.

Feedback is valuable, but sometimes people say things you don't want the client to see :)
