Cool couple that was up for anything. Unfortunately my wrist and back were killing all day from getting hit by a drunk driver the day before. First shoot with the new pocket wizards too.

Not sure what to do with this one. Might take them out and find a better one background wise.

Good job! Looks like you covered a lot of territory. I love the fish market shots.

I'd love to do an engagement shoot in Seattle. Here in Raleigh I get requests to shoot in parks, fields, old tobacco facilities, etc.

    Nice as always, Corey. :bigthumb:

However, I have an entirely unrelated question: Why do people get engagement shoots? I've never understood why the engagement is a big enough deal to warrant photography. And it's after the fact too. I could almost understand some guy popping out of a bush at the actual proposal all paparazzi style, but beyond that, I'm lost. :o

From what my clients tell me, they either want one nice pic to show at the wedding or an album to give to the parents.

yup, basically every major view of the downtown area
:h5: it was a long day.

Seattle does have some great views. But they are also very popular spot. One of the spots had 4 wedding parties and a sweet 16 show up while we were there
    facebook :wiggle:

but they want a slideshow for the wedding itself :hs:

yeah, not as bad as last time. stupid drunk and high 20 year old didn't yield when turning left. he and 2 others got arrested, cops had to chase down some of them too as they tried to escape on foot

The first thing that stuck out to me when I first looked at these pictures were the colors! Is there any special treatment you gave these to make the colors so bright and vibrant? CPL?

The lighting suits the sepia and b&w well, but most of them are either over or underexposed (some both)

other than the lighting, they are awesome and well done :)

my fiance and i are actually going to be doing our engagement/pre-wedding photos this coming thursday and it'll be done similar to the ones mojito posted up as in different outfits in different locations. we're actually going to be doing a more formal shoot with the wedding attire, she has a 2nd dress and i have another suit that we'll be wearing for the 2nd part of the shoot, and most likely we'll have a fairly casual 3rd part.

the main purpose is basically so we can put a little photo book for the guests to view as they enter the reception and we can put better photos in there than the ones we've taken ourselves with a point and shoot.

reason why i bought my 50d recently is so i can do them myself with a tripod

i kid :mamoru: .... i have an actual photographer :o

On that last one, you should go take a super long exposure in the same spot so that all of the people "disappear" then mask them back into it so it looks like they're the only ones at Pikes Place...

Also, on #2 you need to take care of that hair on the top of her head.. not sure if someone mentioned that because I didn't read the thread.

    Otherwise, good pics.

Winnar! the flash is a little overpowering on a few, but for the most part, really nice set.

This you could do, just have them hold position for a few seconds (if they can) let everyone else fade to nothing. different time of day might work better too. The contrast between where the sun hits them, and doesn't is painfull.

10X or better to get a long enough exposure to make everyone else disappear.

Thats all a bunch of bullshit.

Just take a series of pictures about 10-15 seconds apart, then merge them in PS, using the 'stack layers' function. With enough shots, all of the scene data will be there, and photoshop will automatically remove the people and give you a perfectly clean image.

Then you take 1 final shot with them in the scene, and just mask them into your clean image.

    Cake.

    Here's a link:

    http://photoshopnews.com/2007/03/27/image-stacks-in-photoshop-cs3-extended/

It also shows you how to remove noise using multiple exposures... I use this a lot, on burst mode. It's really nice.

not sure... I've been using cs4 for the past 8-9 months, then cs3 for about a year and a half before that, so I can't remember what cs2 had included...

Maybe you'd want to consider upgrading? maybe?
