I'm looking into camaros or firebird. The BMW is just too much and now that college is back I can't afford to keep up with it. I want an all out, hillbillie redneck cruising machine, 5spd, probably a v6 because I have to drive long distances alot. Any other better american cars that get good gas milage that's relatively cheap?

Go for it! I've had a 3rd gen Trans am for years, and I could'nt be happier! Best cars in the world!

From my research, Camaros are more abundant in my area. Latly, I've been leaning towards the v8 with stick and haven't found a trans am but have found the camaro. Is there a big difference?

camaros and firebirds are essentially the same cars, just different body styles and interiors.

Correct. There's no difference between the camaro and trans am. It's just to choose the one that you like...
