There's a machine at the gym which is basically a leverage machine u pull down on, and it works the lats. I think its simply labelled 'LAT PULLS' and it looks like this:

    http://www.exrx.net/WeightExercises/LatissimusDorsi/LVFrontPulldown.html

Anyway, I see people use this, yet no one seems to go above 200 lbs, even big muscular men. The maximum weight is 300 lbs on this machine.

I currently pull 210 lbs on this machine, 3 months ago when i 1st started BBing I was pulling 140 lbs. Are my lats pretty good or is this average?

I don't use that type of lat pull down...I use the one with the pin set...and put it at the bottom 250 and add 25lb plate

I don't really care what kind of weight I use on the lat pulldown machine since its going to vary and weight isn't my primary concern while doing that.

the machine you show I can stack for 15-20...its useless

Use the rack like filmy posted. I cant get over 260 on those usually, also depends on the machine too and how many pullies

I very seldom do lat pulls, I usually just do weighted military lockouts or widegrips.

How do you pull it down: behind your head, or widegrip to your chest? Its easier behind the head and easier to cheat....Widegrip to the chest works the lats better IMO...but is harder.....

I lean back a tad, unlike the broad in the picture...

if you just started lifting, unless you are very strong, you may be just using momentum to do it. Also to create a post to ask if your strong or not is just ignorant. If you want to brag, go to your mom and do it. Keep that kind of shit away from the forums.

    It's called a dual-axes pull-down at my gym :dunno:
I stopped using it when I hit 315 close-grip (stack+sliders), I was doing the wide-grip for 190-210, but seperating the handles.

I just did like 200 for 6 recently. I've been making great progress on that type of exercise more than others.

Before I got sick for 2 months:

    140 x 10
    or
    150 x 8
    or
    160 x 6

    depending on the rep scheme.
