    is it completely kaput?

I've dropped my 600 from a light stand. Cold shoe wasn't on tight enough.. Zoom head now is stuck at its widest setting. Fairly common when dropped. Everything else works. Nikon charges a flat fee of 189 (i think) to fix or reset the flash tube that come off the rails. I just live with it now and use it in modifiers.. I can almost buy a new 600 for the price of repair.

the flash works fine from what I can tell... its just the clip for the bounce card and the wide angle diffuser that are 'broken'. I'm not going to fuck w/ it, calling Nikon in the next couple of days to get an idea of what it would cost. If its too much, my sell it for cheap and buy another SB900. :dunno:
