I want more. Six a year is not enough. They are way too much fun. I'm actually getting better too. I so can't wait for next year.

    :(

    I am fiending for rally.

However, there is a TSD (where you go really fast because speed isnt counted) on nov15/16 on snowy logging roads, and a snow rallyx in december

    SO going to both.

In the mean time, hit up random roads.

every weekend? i hate oregon and its frequent rallies :(

the one in nov i am going up a day early for the beginners course. having no trip odo in rally car REALLY helps, but whatever :p

need to seriously look for some used skinny aggressive snow tires and rallyrims for these 2 events. but im sooooo lazy, ioll probably end up trying it with my current BALD allseasons and then end up in a ditch

damn, I didn't even realize that was today. Watched the last few people run, but ended up being too busy helping prep WRXs for tomarrows track day to get to run myself.

    this month we had....

    two tsd's

1 clubrally (which was only two stages, so more like a hillclimb really)

Then try to get as many people together in on an event. If it isn't SCCA sanctioned then fuck 'em. Start your own organization.

The closest thing we have to rallycross here in NYC is avoiding potholes and bums asking to sqeegee your windshield in midtown.

there's are oregon region scca events put on by the oregon rally group

we get a lot of people down from seattle because the scca organization up there doesn't give a shit about rally or rallycross according to the people that I talked to today that drive down for our events

By the time I made it over to the fair grounds, I was too damn high from breathing in race fuel fumes most of the day getting ready for tomorrow's track day to run the Rally X course.

    :(

In early Oct, we had a performance rally (same as clubrally i guess) which was 15 stages, and actually in 10 minutes (midnight) there is a midnight tsd/go fast rally on vancouver island.

So I guess we have some stuff, but not a LOT. From the pics I see, ours is diff than your rallyx. We goto this awesome guys land (he has 900 acres) on these campsite roads thast basically like a riverbed. Lotta rocks, but awesome place to run.

i was seriously thinking about commuting down there for them, but frankly i hate driving long distances in the topaz (75mph limiter basically). Maybe if I keep up being good I will, or with talon when i get it.

I SO wanna get into performance rallying though. The fact that i can outmatch most g2, prod and pgt cars, including wrxs, in a beat ass 89 topaz sedan, automatic, with baldest tires ever and no oil gives me more confidance than i probably should have :p

Yeah....the rally-x was really fun! I am pretty sure I held onto my third place in the season championship in Group 2. I didn't post any particularly fast times today, but I did have a lot of fun :big grin: Mostly because the course had some loooooong sweepers that were perfect for rear-wheel-drive. One in particular was a slight Scandinavian flick to start the turn, then floor it in second and keep the wheel about straight, making slight steering corrections as needed of course, and what felt like minutes later, the course finally straightened out. Gotta love the RWD rally rear-wheel bleed...

I was staying sideways and having fun.

12XALT is getting pretty handy with the handbrake and looked really good out there on the course. :)

I had a ton of fun at the TSD last night too ( and finished second place intermediate class) but that is another story for another day.

    RALLY...:bigthumb:

Yeah, you were looking pretty good too. Did get a little upset when I had to go pick up one of your cones. :p

Duct taping the ebrake was a wonderful suggestion, thanks so much for making it.

So, what were your times? So I can show everyone how poorly I did compaired to you.

First run immediately following the water truck 3:33.xx in first gear the whole way!

Then down to 2:09.xx, then down to 1:53 clean run, final run was corrected time of 1:59.xx with I have no clue how many gates/cones, except that I know I hit at least three, and a spin!

oh, I did alright then, (of course, it wasn't as wet when I ran)

    1:56
    1:50 (plus a gate for 1:55)
    1:46 (I think or 49)
    1:44.85 or something like that
