Last minute tips for making weight class tomorrow morning :noes:

    I have to weigh in tomorrow morning @ 10:30AM, for an 11-11:30pm start to my competition.

    I'm competing in the 77kg class, and this morning weighed in at 76.6 :noes: I only have 2 comps to qualify for the nationals under the 70% rule so im worried that i might tip over if i eat when hungry today..

    any of you PLers or competitors have any tips ?

    yes, i realise i am under 77kg but i was 75.85kg before the last comp 3 weeks ago :noes:

    I dunno, take some diuretic tonight (caffeine pill maybe) so that you piss some water, don't eat/drink until after the weigh in, profit ?

    Eat something light. We used to get by on popcorn before weigh ins when I was wrestling if you had to eat.

    I'm about 1kg over the next weight class and weigh in is tomorrow night :( Oh well.

    basically...

    you want to be less then 2lbs (so like 1kg) over when you go to bed because you tend to drop a bit due to moisture loss from your breath...

    .check your weight upon waking and you should be there, if not there are a number of things you can do.....don't eat/drink/shower/brush your teeth/etc....go straight to the weigh-in site....


    weigh-in and hydrate back up with gatorade...

    If you're really worried eat a small (very small) dinner tonite and watch your water tommorow. If you are weighing the nite before then just dehydrate a bit and then soon as you step off the scale rehydrate and stuff your face with good foods.

    I wouldn't eat popcorn, thats for sure. I've never been part of a weight class, but it seems like the salt in popcorn would make you thirsty, then you would drink more to compensate, then you wouldn't piss it out because your body would need the extra liquid to balance out your electrolyte levels. More salt = more water retention basically. Seems like the last thing you'd want to do before a weigh in.
