Anyone watch this? It's basically a show where they send like 8 westenrized non-wrestler athletes to train in various tribes to become warriors. The show is like 80-90% wrestling, which is not what the show is suposed to be about, but is why I am watching it.

These guys are small. I think the producers made a wise decision not to bring wrestlers, and just athletes of random sports, cuz if an outsider can beat the chiefs, I'm sure they'd get really angry. I think the westerners were set up to lose.

Imagine if ancient sparta culture existed today. The westerners would get whooped and be built into a wall.

The guy Corey is from up here, he's a mountaineer and skier. He left his senior year at Harvard to do this. They did an article in the local newspaper, they talked about how they have to have a month or so break between each trip because the guys got so sick. Basically diarrhea for 14 months straight.

I kind of caught it right in the middle. It's kind of a neat show, but why would they just bring a bunch of regular guys in to do this? That seems a little silly. The cheifs are so pissed that they arne't badasses when they've got a grand total of like 2 days training.

Can you imagine having 2 days of bjj/wrestling training and then trying to fight a guy that's been doing this for years?

so i'm confused. i looked at the tracker and there's a season's worth of fighting on there already. there was apparently a british version, and then there's a US version which is the british season + 4 episodes?

show is interesting, i might keep watching. but the whole idea of one person being chosen at the end of the show as "the last one standing" is stupid imo.

but yea, I agree about the BMX rider, I think they could have chosen someone else.

Yeah, this show is GREAT!! I can't wait to see where else these guys go.

    That piranha-scraping was a bit much, tho...ouch!

Yeah, I think BBC-3 and the Discovery channel are in cahoots with this one...
