Howdy, new laptop owner here. Whenever I put my laptop on standby/hibernate it disconnects from my wireless network. Any idea to prevent this, so I don't lose my downloads/get kicked off AIM?

    Thanks

Uh, do you understand what standby/hibernate is? It suspends the computer's processing and either just powers the RAM or dumps it to disk so you can resume later. Even if you could leave the card on your downloads will still stop and you will still be disco'd from AIM. Plus your batteries would drain if it wasn't on AC power.

you should be able to set the default action for the lid switch. Check in the power settings in the display/screen saver/power screen
