laptop Wireless issue

    i have a Belkin wireless G card in my dell laptop and for some reason i cant connect to my D-link DI-524 wireless router at home...it just connects..disconnects..connects...diconnects and then says "On Demand" in the wireless signal window... whats going on here guys?

    did it ever connect in the past?
    do you have *any* security/encryption/authentication turned on? (on the router or card?)
    can other wireless clients connect?
    can your laptop with the belkin card connect to any other router?

    WPA on router, but when prompted for the pass i gave it and it was accepted..my desktop can connect wirelessly to the router and yes the card can connect to other wireless access points

    sounds like the WPA key is getting rejected by the router. Turn WPA off and use a mac filter to test. If it connects, the error is with WPA. Try to reconfigure.

    I wouldn't even turn on a mac filter..... no security, no encryption, no filtering, no nada. See if it works first, then start turning on options.
