I just bought a Seirra 300 Aircard for my laptop. The software came w/ drivers only for the PocketPC handheld and WinCE but you can get the laptop drivers from the manufacturers website. So far so good, I found the right drivers and my OS (Win2K) sees everything just fine.

Heres where I get stuck. Now that the WIFI card is installed is that all there is to setting up a WIFI network? Shouldn't there be some other kind of software that scans for a WIFI signal? This is my first time so I really have no idea what I'm supposed to expect.

I figure there's some more configuration right?

no the card was originally for the pocketpc but if you go to the manufacturers website you can also d/l drivers so it can work on your laptop.

Yes, I have my own wireless router in my house.

It fits in both your pda and laptop? I would of thought the dimensions would forbid this.

Once your computer recognizes the card, it should start to scan for a signal; this is atleast true in my case with the dlink card.
