G.F.'s Vaio works fine if the wifi switch is turned off. It connects with a network cable and works fine. The instant the wireless switch is turned on, it flashes a blue screen with a lot of writing, but it is too fast to read and reboots.

It is current with m/s updates. running XP pro.

    Any ideas? Thanks.

Right click My Computer -> Properties -> Advanced -> Startup and Recovery and un-check automatically restart.

Blue screen it again and let us know what the error says, but it is most likely the drivers.

Personally I would disable the wireless card in the device manager before starting anything. That would eliminate anything outside of the wireless device causing the problem.

I do agree that it's the most likely cause of your problem though.
