alright, just got this new laptop, and i love my resolution quite high.

it goes as high as 1024x768 full screen, but anything higher just leaves stuff at 1024x768 size and expands the desktop off the screen, so you have to scroll to the edges. I JUST WANT IT SMALLER!!!!

how do i fix this? its running xp pro, btw ;)

It sounds like your laptop screen is physically limited to 1024x768. The LCD only has 1024x768 pixels. Resizing anything bigger to fit will make text unreadable and such, so that's why it won't do it.

Look for a program called LiquidVision, it lets you adjust the size of icons and things without actually changing the resolution.
