laptop recomendations?

    What do you guys recommend? I will be primarily using it for internet, burning dvd's and music. ANy websites you guys recomend to order from? THanks.

    Yeah, depending on your budget an iBook or a PowerBook is a great choice.

    my budget is around $500-600. FOr some reason I dont really like macs. what other options are there?

    :werd: For $600, whatever crap you can find new is going to be worse than a decent one you buy used.

    Does it HAVE to be new? I got a IBM T23 off eBay for $580 shipped and it came in excellent condition. Warranty ends this year in May. I do everything fine but it didnt come with a DVD burner but I plan to get a NEC ND-6500 off Newegg for $125 in a few weeks.

    You can do a lot for $600 if you decide to build a desktop...or even buy one from Dell if theyre having sales. Some of their promotions comes with everything including a printer.

    i would never touch a dell (*especially* not a cheap one). And I'd never trust a system off of ebay.

    one of the worst systems you can buy. Dell is infamous for poor build quality and sub-par performance. Dell IDE controllers and choice of hard drives is especially poor.
