laptop questions

    looking for laptop in the $500-800
    alot of them only have about 512 ram but some can be found with 1gb of ram. IM looking for a computer that i can basically do m homeowrk on but also load some computer games on.

    first of all, is 512 of ram going to be sufficeint?
    also many of these have between 60-80 when it comes to memory.

    512 is ok for running XP today but totally inadequate for Vista if you ever plan to upgrade. I'd get on with 1 GB today and an open slot for more memory tomorrow.

    you can also save some money by buying the ram from newegg if you want
