I got a laptop for college, it doesn't have a dvd burner, but I would like to get one. How hard would it be to swap out my current cd-rw drive, and replace it with the dvd burner drive? Or would it be more practical to just get an external burner?

Depends on the laptop. Wtih some it's as easy as ordering a replacement part, sliding the old one out and sliding the new one in. On others, it's more involved.

What kind of laptop did you get? We can answer that a little better with that info...

Yeah, this isn't a bad idea. We bought an external BenQ at work for like $130 Canadian, and it works really well.
