Dell Latitude LS series Laptop -- it's a pentium III something and has Windows 2000 on it right now... I want to install XP for various reasons.

Ok for some reason this laptop is recognizing the external CD-Rom drive as a floppy drive. I have a 1GB compact flash card that I have been using to transfer stuff from my computer to this laptop. So I have the XP ISO on the laptop ready to go. Trouble is, when I run the XP setup it says must have a cd-rom drive installed (or something along those lines) once it restarts to continue the installation through DOS or whatever.

Unless I can get this CD-ROM drive working, I need to find out a way to get XP installed without one (OR a floppy drive). Is this possible?

If someone could help me do this I would be so happy I cannot even express it with words. I need this XP on this thing, it would be a life saver.

    Thanks for reading! :x:
