I just got a dell 640m in the mail, so far I love it, no problems... except for one. The screen makes my eyes bleed after I use it for more than 20 minutes. Its crisp and looks great..... but it makes my eyes really hurt. My old toshiba's screen was amazing, I could stare at it for hours without feeling a thing.

I thought its because it has a higher rez 1440x900 vs 1280x768, but decreasing it doesn't make much difference.

    Anyone have a similar problem?

Try setting your brightness down and the contrast to a level that's a bit easier on your eyes.

You cannot adjust contrast it seems. The gfx card settings are really basic. I got intergrated intel 950 (dont plan on playing much games on this thing).

You change the brightness settings on the screen, not the video card. Look for screen-related markings somewhere on your keyboard.

I think Dell's use an Fn key or something along with the arrow keys and whatever. I dunno man, look at the blue writing on your keys and figure out how to alter your brightness/contrast.

Depends on the notebook. I've had a few that allowed contrast adjustments -- but not all do.
