How hard is it to install laptop memory sticks? What is involved?

I've taken apart and put together desktops many times but never even tried with a laptop.

My wife is looking to install another GB of memory for WoW.

On my Dell M300 there's a little panel on the bottom that you unscrew and remove, then the memory sticks are laying right there. It was literally a 5 minute job.

Try googling your laptop make/model and "ram replacement" or something similar, there's probably a how-to guide out there some where :dunno:

Yep, very easy... Some machines have one slot on the bottom and the other under the keyboard. Either way, it's only a couple of screws.

Sounds good. I wonder why I always heard it was such a pain in the ass... then again I probably heard that 10 years ago.

The one under the keypad is generally a bitch to get to - I never quite understood why they would separate them...

On my HP. Take out 2 screws, you've got the 2 memory slots stacked, cpu and wi-fi card. Took about a minute to replace the memory.
