Does a 7200rpm hard drive drain a laptop battery any more than a 5400rpm hard drive, or would that be offset by the fact that the 7200rpm drive would be finished accessing or writing data faster??

    I'm trying to decide if i should get a 7200rom vs a 5400rpm drive for a laptop that i'm buying. Thanks :)

I have one in my e1505 and still get 4 hours on battery. If there is any difference, it will be tiny.

7200rpm drains power faster, but accesses information faster

5400rpm uses less power, but access information slower

    take your pick
