i recently bought a Gateway MX6450. the display resolution leaves alot to be desired. i used to run my dell inspiron 8000 @ 1600x1200. this gateway will only let me goto 1280x800. is there anyway to get drivers to let me go higher? this small resolution is really driving me nuts

How can you read the screen at that resolution. 1280 x 800 is killing me, and I have perfect vision. But probably not much longer.

Is the screen in the new laptop even capable of running at higher than 1280x800??

:dunno: i prefer having so much more space on the screen though. some of the stuff i do for work makes it much easier having the extra room

I run 2560x1024 on my desktop(on dual 17" monitors) and have no troubles reading anything at all.. Any lower(even 1024x768) and the screen looks way too small to me now.

As for the drivers, that might be your only hope, but I have no idea where to start looking for those.
