My laptop battery is acting up lately. Usually I just leave it plugged in but when I unplug it, it last for about 30 minutes max, it's a P4M. The battery will show it's discharging until about 75% then the monitor dims as i set it then at 73% it drop down to 3% in about 20 seconds, then back up to 73% for 5 seconds and then dies all the way down. Is there anything i can do the save the battery or is it time i should buy a new one. Also if i do end up getting a new one, should i take the battery out when I'm going to leave it plugged in for a long amount of time?

    Thank you

Do did you laptop come with any kind of software to monitor battery usage? If it did, it should tell you if the battery can still hold a full charge or not. If its bad you can pick one up on eBay for fairly cheap. Make sure the seller will warranty the battery for at least 30 days.

You can take the battery out when plugged in but I wouldnt recommend it. Think of leaving the battery in as a cheap UPS device.
