Anyone know of any online or software training for military-style land nav? I'm looking for something to steer my buddy towards to get him up to speed before he goes to WTC.

And yes - he knows enough to keep his mouth shut and his head down so as not to stand out from the crowd. I/we just want to make sure he's as prepared as possible before he goes.

None that I know of. You can find tutorials for how to use a map. He's gonna need to know the colors, 3 norths, and all that shit.

The closest I've found is a glorified powerpoint presentation.

I gave him a protractor and a short lesson on grid coordinates, and he ordered a military-style map of the area to practice on. That'll have to do for now unless I find something better.

He'll get a nice class on it... at least we did in BCT, not sure about how they do it in WTC. He should be straight.

Yup - he'll get training in it, and he has done this before (he is prior service). WTC have to check all the boxes that regular Army basic checks off - only they have to do it all in only 5 weeks, as opposed to the 9 weeks new recruits get. It makes for a lot of "hurry the fuck up! learn it on the run! listen to these instructions while you smoke yourself!" :hsd:
