This gal that i have been seeing is getting serious and we're looking at birth control options that allows me to spill my seeds in her.

She's a 26 years old asian and from what i have heard is that alot of asian gals don't like the pill since it jacks with their hormones.

On that note I have heard that there are some brands that are low hormone dosage and some brand that kill libidos and others that enhances libidos.

Her libido is not as high as other gals that I've been with. She's only been with one guy in her entire life and that was 6 years ago.

I am leaning towards an IUD option.

Don't know much about Depro, but have heard that it can make the gal gain weight and lose libido all together since it mimics chemical castration/menopause.

I like to hear your personal experiences on what worked and/or hasn't worked for you

I've heard some bad things about IUDs. My gf is on low horomone Yaz and loves it, nothing really has changed.

BTW, your gf is probably lying about only being with 1 guy prior to you, and you're pretty gullible for believing it.

Lots of places won't let a girl get an IUD unless she's already had a kid.

I've tried different pills, the ring and depo. They all suck. They all killed my sex drive and fucked with my emotions. I quit taking BC a couple years ago and I've felt so much better since then.

There's no way to tell which is the best for her, she needs to talk to a doctor. Each one will effect every woman differently. Part of it is just trial and error to find something that will work.

I doubt that she is lying for the following reasons:

She is a quirky nerdy dorky type
    Control freak
    low libido
when i asked her how many guys she has boinked she was ashamed to say just one
she's picky about what guys she will go out with

I'm currently on Apri (desogestrel and ethinyl estradiol pill) and I like it. Only felt sick the first month on it and no problems since. My friend has been on it longer than me and she has had a horrible experience (vomiting, can't eat, cramps ect.)
Your gf will just have to try something and see how it affects her to find what is right for her.

it's not that they make you "gain weight", it's that they increase your appetite. So it's up to her to not overeat and exercise enough. It's not some uncontrollable thing.

    no idea :dunno:

her big concern is the weight gain.

    She's trying to loose 10-20lbs.

I told her that the only way to know is to try different ones and see which one best suits her body chemistry...

I was on Depo. I loved it, so many hate it.. :dunno: I didn't gain weight, but it did make it harder for me to lose weight years later (at least that's what I think).

I've taken Ortho-Tricyclen, Seasonique, and currently Lybrel in the past. None have made me gain weight. None have decreased my sex drive.

It's not the pill that makes a woman gain weight, it's the fact that some may increase appetite, so as long as you curb it and exercise, there's no reason anyone should gain weight.. :dunno:

Sigh....I wish there was a sticky that covered this very common topic :hsugh:

I've been on Yasmin for years and never gained a pound because of it.

The pill can do different things to different women. The best thing for her would be to go to her gynecologist, talk with her gyno about options, try one out, stay on it or switch if it had side effects she doesn't agree with.

I don't think this is entirely true. for me it has been a matter of water weight and bloating. i switched and was working out and eating well and I was just bloated all the time. didn't even gain weight, but my stomach was noticeably bloated.

I was on depo and it was terrible for me. weight gain, killed my libido, i was dry, and i bled continuously. I've been on ortho-cyclen for many years. that worked well for me. I switched to an alternative that was supposed to be the same but from a different manufacturer, and it made me bloated and I spotted.

I want something new, but so far the ortho-cyclen has worked best for me. It's gonna totally depend on her, it's a little trial and error.

i was on orthcyclen for a couple of months, then switched to orthonuvum. fewer side effects with the nuvum, may go back on that. i did loestrin fe for one month, and that was HORRIBLE.

ive been on loestrin fe for a while now and i love it actually.

see TS, its going to take some time for her to find the pill with the right hormones for her body. every woman is different.

i heard someone mention yaz earlier, and my old roommate was on that for a while and had horrible side effects. it all depeneds on the person

Anecdotal evidence suggests that the pill Ortho Novum 7/7/7 can increase a woman's libido.

Yasmin never killed my libido. Again proving they all do different things for different women.

:werd: Really man, she's just gonna have to try a few and see what she likes. There's no way to really predict how her body is going to react :hs:

No kidding. But Ortho Novum 7/7/7 is known for increasing libido.

Obviously it won't have that effect on all women.

Yaz. I prefer any monophasil BC. No fluctuation in hormone levels plus you can skip your period.

Do you still have full periods on this or what? I am really considering it, but I love that I don't get my period as often when i take the pill.
