I work with this guy who is just insane -- he used to be pinner as hell and is now ripped; he eats almost 6000 calories a day and works out (weights only) and runs (around 45 mins) 7 days a week. On top of that he's a painter working 8 hours days mon-fri. Personally I know it's not healthy to be doing as much exercise as he has been doing but it's really not my place to try and change his routine -- he's being seeing results and wont stop doing what he's doing while he's still getting bigger. Anyway, he's been complaining that he's been feeling some fatigue during his workouts -- i suggested a small snack about 20 mins before (anything dense in complex carbs and protein), but i was wondering if anyone else has found another way to boost energy during time at the gym?

cliffs: ripped guy at work is tired during workouts; already eats 6000 calories a day and is looking for suggestions to boost his energy at the gym.

seriously though, i hear some people have loved the energy they get using NoXplode but it seems to be a little creatine and a lot of caffeine. he would probably be better off letting his body repair itself and cooling down some of his workouts. if he is feeling fatigued, its most likely because he is overreaching/ overtraining

I sip on a 30g dextrose/20g protein isolate (wish i could find some cheap hydrolysate) drink during my workout. I dilute it enough so it lasts throughout the entire time im at the gym, seems to do the trick.

sprinting makes you faster, not marathon running, and if you read the first post:

"he's being seeing results and wont stop doing what he's doing while he's still getting bigger."

Maybe he wants to be a better marathon or half marathon runner.
