i want a psp for macross and the wipeout pure/pulse games
    but
i want a homebrew (so i can play jap games) and watch whichever movie format i want

is there a model that can't be homebrew'd? or are the specific ones i SHOULD be looking to get?

i dont mind if its the fatty old psp, or the slim one.. whatever will be cheap i suppose.

theres a new psp coming out but how long does it take for them to crack the software to be homebrew'd?

To my knowledge, they all can be hacked sooner or later. When the slims came out everyone wanted a phat because no one knew how to hack the new ones. I'm sure the same thing will happen with the new 3000 model.

I looked through the long ass thread in gamers pulse and have some idea of what was going on, but the only kink in the plan was that I needed the pandora battery. From what I gathered you needed some special tool to make the battery, plus the spare battery itself. The cost over ebay for the battery was the same as the cost to pay someone to do it, so I just had someone modify it for me.

Check your local craigslist ads and you'll find someone that will modify it for you. Shouldn't cost more than $20 US. After that, check out pspiso.com and you can find all the apps, games, files, etc. you need. It's pretty simple once you start playing around with it and they usually have tutorials. You can also look on youtube and they have vids of people adding crap on there.

    magic memorystick

    pandora battery

is this still the right way to do it?
fuck it seems WAY too easy???

ok so im understanding this is how you get older firmware installed.
once this is done then what?

do you then just drag and drop games into the 'GAMES' folder and thats it?
is there a maximum size memory stick that the PSP can handle? 8GB? 10GB?

as that video pointed out, the psp has to already have the custom firmware to make the battery. You can't make a pandora battery on a psp that is "stock". Or at least, I never found a video that showed how to do it, only ones like that.

That's where I got stuck. Chicken or the egg? That's why I recommended just paying somebody the $20 to do it.

To be fair, wait for Kira to come back in. He started that thread in gamer's pulse so he has a better idea than I do most likely.

I just copy iso's to my memory stick and I'm able to play the games...why or how I do not know (I don't even have a pandora battery and don't recalled installing custom firmware...but then again, my cousin gave me the psp since he didn't want to buy the games since they were too expensive :mamoru:)

basically, all I did was drag the files to the psp (to wherever they belong, roms folder etc) and just play it..

link for game iso's (gotta register, but its worth it)
