MMAScoops.com has learned that Kurt Angle is still actively talking with MMA companies although his wrestling career is coming first right now due to his main event status.

We're told Dana White and UFC are still interested in using Kurt at some point although Kurt doesn't want to be put under any sort of contract. Gary Shaw is also said to be interested in Kurt.

We hope to have more on this story here on MMAScoops.com later this week prior to UFC 74.

I seriously doubt he'll fight in the UFC, he won't really have any long-term marketability, he's already got some pretty serious neck injuries and he will most likely be fed some cans or get trashed by decent competition. Hes already in his 40's and he won't have the longevity of a Couture.

He'll get picked up by a smaller organization that can pony up a decent payday for him. I'd be interested, but I wouldn't pay the PPV fee for it.

him getting owned will be worse for the sport as a whole than the enjoyment that it would bring me to see him get crippled.

If he does fight i hope its in a smaller org against a nobody and gets destroyed.

Angle vs. Lesnar would be interesting since they are both wanting to fight MMA.

Tell them to stay the fuck in the WWF. The more distance MMA puts between itself and that fake bullshit the better off MMA will be in the long run.

i agree, but for them it's an awesome marketing tool that will generate a whole new following

i hate to admit it, but i wouldn't mind seeing angle vs. puder in the cage. puder wants him, and i'm sure angle hasn't let it go

I'd pay to watch Puder/Angle...I still remember when Puder had Angle in a kimura or something like that (forgot cause it was a long time ago)

i'd enjoy watching angle fight but agree completely with earlier post concerning his age and serious injury with neck etc limiting his long term ability to improve at MMA, sure his wrestling would be great but no striking or submissions or sub defense etc, he would be getting a late start in life and with the neck injury and who knows what else is screwed up with all the punishment he takes in fake wrestling, how long could he last with real fighting....not sure but i'd love to see him take a shot at it anyway

all these like weird people jumping into mma will usually get a couple of fights because they feed them cans. then they will get their big pay day get exposed and say fuck this shit or fall into obscurity and try to milk mma for as long as they can. I call it the bob sapp factor

I donno MMA used professional wrestling to get a decent following. A lot of MMA to Pro wrestling crossovers occurred. I remember watching the WWF as a kid and seeing guys like Ken Shamrock and Steve Blackman and they talked about the UFC all the time, it gives good exposure.

Kurt Angle would have to sign a contract so he wont do it, he's also old, and would probably do only one or two fights before he got tired of it. Not worth it.
