Kron lost his first match, was down on points 14-2 and got subbed, lapel choke from the back.

    Helllllllllllllllllllllo humility.

On a side note, I saw him after under the bleachers crying his eyes out and I was incredibly sad.

Does this make you feel better that you lost your first match as well?

Sergio Moraes was the guy, Alliance.

No, doesn't make me feel much better because I wasn't outclassed. I could have won it, made a stupid mistake. But man...50% of the people that go lose their first match.

bjj tournaments suck for this reason :o

to be honest.. the guys who place are often times, not the best. a big part of it is luck of the draw

thats why judo competitions rock. They do round robin so even if you lose you still can keep competing. makes for better practice

The IBJJF seriously needs to implement double eliminations, its bullshit that people that do come from out of state have to spend $300-$400 and lose their first match and thats, that. :ugh:

Charging $80 for a tournament and only having single elimination, it's a fucking crime. My highschool wrestling tournaments were organized and ran better :o

yeah judo does it and some of these tournaments are bigger then the BJJ tournaments. They do round robin in the olympics and judo is the secound largest practiced sport in the world and they can make it happen in organized fashion how cant they do it at worlds

Was anybody REALLY expecting him to do well?

Of course he had absurd expectations because of his father's name but nonetheless Kron is a newly minted black belt.

dude, you suck at being smart.

50 submissions in a row as a brown belt including absolute divisions. I've never heard of anyone doing that before.. and you say he was "hastily promoted"

    no, just no
