Know any good free ad blockers?

    exactly as asked. I hate pop ups, and am trying to find a very reliable program that is free. If one even exists.

    I haven't seen a single popup or annoying ad yet with Firefox 1.0.7 and a hosts list.

    firefox, the adblock extention, and the UserContent.css file

    i see very few ads. i started getting popups about a month ago after a couple of years without them. since goint to 1.0.7, i think ive gotten one

    penguin man, what do you have in your hosts file?

    hmm, nice. seems to work very well. i haven't tried the .css file since this works fine without it.

    i still get a few, but mostly from free online game sites and other cheap/scam looking sites. simple browsing/research/forums i get none.

    The latest version from hostsfile.mine.nu. Basically, any request for something that is on a known ad server is redirected to my local machine. For convenience and prettiness, I have Apache setup to redirect all 404 Not Found errors to a 1x1 pixel transparent image, so I see ads as nothing, but this is not required.
