I've heard BM doesn't cover blade breaking :dunno: cause I've never dealt with them personally but I had the same thing happen to a carry knife a couple of years back and took it into a BM authorized dealer and they were like they don't do it. But wtf do they know, just give them a call and find out, I'm sure if you're nice over the phone they'll cover it.
Friend of mine broke his tip prying off a round on a MK19, and C.R. covered it when he got back. But the whole knife was fucked up and I'm pretty sure they just took a new blade and serialized it the same (btw it was one of the knives the GBs get after graduation). Brand new now and I believe he's got it up on a wall or something.

that must have been one hell of a christmas present :eek3:

They may not replace the blade, but they may offer to reprofile it. That will leave you with a shorter blade though :hs:

Yeah I've always found it kinda hard to justify spending that much money on a knife, but once you start looking at how much money you're spending on guns and other stuff it gets easier.

Okay, so what's the REAL story of how you broke the tip off?

Benchmade blade tips don't just fall off.

Actually Spyderco tips can break very easily as well. They are so fine that you have to be very carefull, I still love them though :p

I think a knife should be able to handle any task you throw at it, I carry a Kershaw that I've personally shown hell. The tip is blunt now, but its still there and the knife works extremely well for the workhorse I've turned it into.
But anyways, yeah if you need a staple remover your knife should be able to handle it.
But if it was me I probably would have tried to just cut the edges of the box instead of trying to remove the staples ;)

Learn to sharpen a knife; with a set of crock sticks its not hard at all.

Very true. I've been using S&W frame locks for years as my primary work-knife. For less that $20 a pop, it's a good throw-away-type knife. I've been through about 6 in the past 2 years.
