My uncle makes knives (stoneycreekforge.com), so I arranged for him to make a knife for my dad for Christmas. Wasn't cheap, but totally worth it!

    The specifics:

(regarding the wood, when questioned my dad said mahogany was his favorite, my dad is a custom millworks and mouldings expert by trade)

Let me know what you think! Sorry for so many pics, but there's just so much detail, I was trying to catch it all.

In case it's not clear, this engraving is down inside, this is a pic with the blade out.

Regarding the detail, the originally asked "will this be something he uses every day, or more for pulling out to show it off and stuff?" We went for the latter, even though it's durable enough to use all the time if he wanted.

Not sure what he would charge other folks, we got a family discount (split between my and my 2 brothers). Check out the website for prices on the knives he has listed, and that should give you a ballpark idea (click on "art gallery", then "folding knives"). Obviously it's all customizable, he makes them as they're ordered, I ordered this a few months ago.

If this is considered spamming, mods feel free to remove the website info.

That is pretty damn nice. I love the backside of it. And the engraving on the inside is pretty bad ass too.

Sorry, by "I had made" I mean "I had someone make it for him", bad choice of words.
