So, I currently carry a Kershaw Blackout (ibhate) which for what I use it for has works just fine, but would like to get something a little nicer just to satisfy that "i want" need that is going through me. What are your recomendations? I want something with a combo edge, same size as my Blackout, and something with a spring assist. :x:

I'll plug Benchmade Griptilian's again. I love those knives, I have 2 on me most any time. Once Combo edge, and one Ritter plain edge. Fairly cheap (non-ritter) solid blade lock and with the axis you can open them almost as fast as an auto.

I just bought a knife last night, I was taken in by the wave gimmick as nifty for a fast easy to open knife. Review to come this weekend perhaps.

How do you like the 530?

I carry a full size 550 grip, but it's kind of bulky to carry in dress pants at work. Most of the complaints I read about the 530 said it felt flimsy and cheap, the thumb studs were too close to the handle and the domed out axis buttons hurt your fingers.

It does feel a tad on the flimsy side, but it's light, compact, and completely disappears in your pocket. Also opens easily and quickly from inside your pocket. I love it.

If I need brute strength from a knife I'll carry my Applegate Gerber, or the Benchmade Stryker.

    are you LEO?

You don't need to be an LEO to get one, it's a rule from Benchmade, but retailers don't have to abide by it. The only problem is you have no warranty, because if you send it in to Benchmade you need a copy of an LE or military ID or they won't service it, and probably won't send it back to you either.

I've always wanted a 942 which is the reverse tanto in black but they're discontinued and I haven't seen one for sale in a while. :hs: I may have to look at a 940 though.

I know i bought these when i lived out of this communist state. Don't tell them about my 9 or 10 other autos.

Why?........ Are you going to turn me in? and no.

You just have to live a state that does not care how it's people protect thier families.

    Are those made in America?

Like 90% of Gerber knives are made in Taiwan and China now, the only good ones left that are worth buying are the ones made in America.
