    So I just got back from my friendly local FFL's shop, where I've been piddling around with him most of the evening. He started in on thanking me for always helping him out (he's old, and I stop by when I get time to help him out here and there), and said that he wanted to give me something.

    It was kind of a sentimental moment for me as this man has known me and my family for years, and I owe much to him for teaching me about firearms. He's pretty much family to me, and I'd do anything in the world for him. Recently, his health has been declining and I've noticed that the daily strain of running his shop has started to wear on him. He's pretty much stopped shooting do to vision loss from Diabetes, and all he talks about now are his old war stories (he shot BR for a long time), and how he wishes he could relive those days. Kinda sad stuff.

    So I go in and help him catch up on some of his gunsmithing, and generally try and help run his shop when I can. Recently I've been trying to get together a inventory management system for him that will streamline much of the office work that takes up so much of his time. It's more than worthwhile to me, as I get to play with guns, use his shop, and BS whenever I want; plus I'm helping out a friend which makes me sleep easier at night.

    So anyways..... Check out what he gave me;

    My heart stopped when he pulled out a giftwrapped box, and then I opened it to find the above. We :rofl::rofl::rofl:'d together for a minute, then I :squint:, and called him a cocksucker. I also told him that I wished his parents had gotten married, as maybe then he wouldn't be as much of a bastard.

    Yeah, the old man has a great sense of humor, and I now have a new everyday knife. Be jealous.

    Is it an actual Kershaw, or just a knockoff?

    Sadly enough, Kershaw whored themself out to a new low and actually produced this. It comes in a Kershaw box even.

    Ironically, everything that bears the Hi-Point name is apparently destined to be full of fail and aids as this is the shitiest Kershaw I've ever seen. It's not sharp, the machining on it looks terrible, and I've yet to be able to get it to open all the way with one flick.

    I'm surprised the handle isn't much bigger and more uncomfortable.

    I've actually shot the carbine model. The one I shot had an ATI synthetic stock on it, which combined you think would be all sorts of horrible. It actually wasn't so bad. Very ergonomic, and it shoot fairly well (we were shooting steel with dots, so extreme accuracy wasn't needed). My only complaint was the trigger was not the greatest, and it only took Hi-point magazines.

    If it took, say Glock mags.... I would seriously consider getting one if for no other reason that to have a cheap blaster to loan out to friends. It was actually pretty fun.
