so i noticed today when i started walking down the stairs that my left knee popped and started to hurt. I do the elliptical everyday and train legs once a week(squats, press, curls). any ideas on what is causing the pain, or some ideas on how to counter it?

wow, so a deeper squat may actually help the problem?

if i stop doing the elliptical AND the leg workout day i will start putting back on some of the weight i've been working so hard to lose. Is the elliptical the easiest cardio on your knees?

actually its more to the right of the center of the knee cap, it also has been popping a lot.

try stretching. i met this physical therapist at my gym, and he says if ur knee hurts, the first thing u should do is stretch ur quads, ur calves, and ur hip flexers. the tightning of muscles around the knee tend to pull the tendons on the front of the knee causing pain

its more of a cracking, like when you crack your knuckles or pop your back.

If your knee swells up tonight and feels unstable tomorrow then head to the Doc for an MRI. That = youre fucked.

I would bet youre fine though. Harden up. lol My knees pop like a bag of popcorn every time they flex anywhere near 90.

leave out leg curls and presses and extensions. For some people they jsut cause a lot of pain (myself included).

I get that shit too. Some of the time I'll get pain the day after maxing out on deadlifts or squats but usually my knees just pop every now and then.

    NO!

If you have fucked up knees wearing knee wraps will not solve the problem and will probably make it worse. Neoprene sleeves, on the other hand, can help with certain issues because they keep the joint warm.
