MMA Knee-bar question

    [I don't compete, so this is probably a stupid question. That being said... when a fighter catches a kick to the body (so the kicker is on one foot with one foot trapped), why do they never try jump into a knee bar? In my head it seems like it would work, but I have no one to try it on :o ]

    i do judo so not well versed in kneebars, but i imagine the reason is because a flying kneebar would be very hard to pull off. if you miss it, or miscalculate his kick you either have a knee/shin to the face, or just gave up your back.

    Things like that are alot easier to imagine than pull off. Dont forget you have to block the kick also
