Let me preface any statements I make here by saying that I currently subscribe to both Invincible and Walking Dead.

My first and really only question is this: How exactly the hell does Kirkman think he can work on yet another ongoing title when he can't even ship the titles he currently has on time?

I was SO into Invincible and Walking Dead, but at this point my interest has been pulled in many other directions because of the constant delays that I rarely even think about his titles anymore.

    What does OTCC think?

I thought Haunt was going to be a mini-series, but another ongoing sounds good to me. I love all of Kirkman's books, but I agree the delays have been irritating.

We should probably cut him some slack though. Those image comics are basically put together by just a few guys, so things can slow down here and there. Kirkman has said that he does a lot more hands on work with TWD besides the script, which delays it. Unlike with Marvel, he just turned in scripts and his job was done.

who says it's kirkman's fault the books are late? what does that mean? it means ryan ottley and adlard are not mark bagley. and if you're going by image comcis standards, his books have the fastest turn around compared to other creators.

look at what he did at marvel with ant-man, the book came out every month on time. with ultimate x-men under oliver...every month. under yanick...slower, but his scripts were turned in on time to accomidate his artist.

plus, he was co-creating astounding wolf-man as well as doing walking dead AND invincible...all the while editing brit and the invincible mini-series over atom eve.

now what? ant-man is gone, he's been done writing ultimate x-men for months, the atom eve mini is done. with the time he has not making absolute deadlines with marvel gone, he probably has all the free time in the world.

the point...you're theory holds no water

Curious, but did you not just prove my point for me? He has all the free time in the world and yet can't ship things on time? Not to mention I'm not sure why you are taking this so personally.

not really taking it personally, i understand why people get upset when books run late...but it usually because they're passionate of the story, not looking for an excuse to drop it.

and yes, he's away from marvel and he's got time...that's why he's taking on another project. i'd bet my hellboy statue that he's probably written almost the entire mini or initial arc to this new series already. he's probably writing TWD 53 or 54 and he's probably around the same ish on Invincible.

so how is he...himself...robert kirkman...behind when he's already written 4 or 5 issues ahead? the book is behind, but he's not...and your placing the blame on him. blaming one person for a book being late, is like blaming the kicker for shanking the game winning field goal. a team effort kind of thing.

Yea, but Astounding was the weakest of Kirkman's lineup. Don't get me wrong, I still buy it and read it, but it never came into its own the way his others did.

give it time. if anything, macfarlane won't stay on spider-spawn for long...he'll just do covers and it'll pass on to some other artist.

I bought it, read it, and really liked it. It'll be fun to watch how it plays out, and if it can stay on time with 2 major creators participating like this.

If you like Venom and you like Spawn and you wish they could fuck and have a kid... it would be Haunt.
