Halp! I need some advice from the guys here. I am looking at a rem. 700. Any reviews from you guys or any others I should look into. I probably won't be hunting and am just looking for something at the range and to hold me over until I can carry. Thanks.

I'm pretty open to any really. I'm not really looking for a .22 though. I really like that Savage, I'm going to look into that some more.

Do you have a seperate budget for an optic? 10FP doesn't have irons and is going eat up 95% of that budget.

$300+. General rule of thumb is a decent scope should cost about the same as the gun.

he is saying that getting all the major Mosin Nagant types (91/30, M38, and M44) from a Big5 while they are on sale would come out to less than 500

Heck, you could get all 3 and 4 tins of ammo for less than 500.

I would say don't get a mosin as your first rifle though :o
