I have 2 of the standard kimber "tactical" or whatever they're called. And 2 Chip mcCormicks. Can't complain about either and have put over a thousand rounds through the gun between the 4 mags.

If you can get them, you want magazines with a "skirt" around the follower so that it doesn't slip forward or back when empty. Additionally, the follower (ideally) should have a tiny dimple (pimple? It sticks out) in the center. This helps reduce last-round misfeeds. I don't know which magazines are available like this. I have two mags with folded metal followers (one is shooting star) and neither has a skirt. The shooting star, however, has a dimple. Maybe some of y'all can examine your mags and let us know which have that setup?

I have Kim-Pro tac mags that came with the weapon...they suck compared to the Wilson 47Ds I just bought. Noticeably more reliable with the Wilson mags.

they are about a quarter of an inch too short so they wont lock in place. Im wondering if I should modify them or just get some different ones?

P.S. please excuse the dog hair

I was just at Mystic on Wednesday night and last night. I bought a Glock 26 yesterday for my "real" carry weapon. I need to get more rounds out of it and throw more .45s out my Para!
