I hurt my shoulder somehow at work yesterday :wtc: it seemed to gradually get more painful

if I let my arm hang at my side, palm facing forward, I can do a front raise no pain

if I let my arm hang at my side, palm facing backwards, i get pain after about 3-4" of movement - extremely sharp pain... feels like front of shoulder :hsd:

what part of my shoulder is busted and how do I fix it? should I go see a doctor for this?

Eh, I'm with Ceaze. Going to the doctor "ASAP" will get you an xray and MAYBE a referral to a orthopedic surgeon....who will then take more xrays, do an MRI and tell you to do shoulder rehab shit and stop lifting weights for a while.

If the pain becomes so intense that you can't stand it and your range of motion doesn't improve over the next few days, then go to the doctor to get some better painkillers and an MRI because you may have a tear. I've hurt my shoulder a few times, felt like I tore it each time but turned out just to be impingement. Working on scapular retraction and doing lightweight shoulder rehab bullshit has helped tons.....plus switching to dumbells for bench for a couple months.........AFTER taking 3 months off from doing any type of pressing movement.

My doc said I had to stop lifting earlier this week. I started rehab yesterday.

I am down nearly 30 lbs since november (weightloss was goal), and it's like a knife in the heart to tell me no more upper body for 6 weeks.

I wasn't really doing anything when it happened - that's why it's weird. :dunno:

It just started to bug me a bit and over the course of 2-3 hours it started to kill :hs:

I've been icing it and I have naproxen somewhere so I'll find that and take it. It seems to be doing a bit better.

So you didn't feel it pop or "unwind" or anything like that? Does the pain stay in your shoulder exclusively, or does it radiate down your arm when you feel the pain?

Sounds like you pinched your rotator cuff. It happened to me too. Ice and rest and you'll be better in a few weeks.

Obviously, seek a second opinion at the doctor's office though. ;)

Depends. Front squats are better if you're dealing with impingement, but worse if it's your AC joint.
