If it get two 12" solarbaric l7s will i need one or two amps to run it ?

also, what kind of box would u reccommend for solarbarics?

    vented or sealed?

or are there bandpass boxes for them ?

All of those questions can be answered with: "It depends"

Are you going for sound quality or spl?

I see no reason to go with 2 amplifiers, you can get a single amplifier that is powerful enough for less than 300 dollars.

You will probably want to go with a large vented enclosure.

I'm going for sound quality i guess?? I want it to hit HARD but i don't want the subs to drown out the music..

So i can just get one amp? Could you reccommend me one?

So would two 12" Solarbaric L7s powered by one amp in a large vented sub box go for what i want?

yes, i have 2 in a custom vented box. pushing with a autotek mx-5000 amp. makes my roof (navigator) flex like 2 inches when the bass hits. oh they hit in deed.

so do you think it would be Too much for a Toyota 4Runner?

I want a lot of bass, but i don't want my car to fall apart on me..

Unless you simply want it to pound and be rediculously loud, one 12" L7 would suffice just fine.

Have you looked at any other brands?

i am not sure if i want to to be ridiculously loud.. but i want it to be loud yes.. i'm just trying to figure out how loud two 12" l7s would be..

my friend has two 10" Comp VRs in his Toyota Truck and those are pretty loud..

would one 12" L7 be louder then that ??

and yes i've looked into other brands, but from what i've heard is that the L7s give u the best bang for your buck

i want the highest sound quality with the highest bass possible...

    any reccomendations?

    what is spl?

Well, if you want the highest sound quality possible as well, you may want to look into other woofers. You can get the L7 to sound good, but it takes huge enclosure sizes IMO.

What about something like a single 13W7 or 15" Brahma? They will cost a bit though.

SPL is sound pressure level, or refering to having a lot of audio output.

well those two seem a little out of my price range..

i'm looking at spending around $500-$700 for the subwoofer(s) + amp + box

    what about these :

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3079373456&category=32823

thats the reason why im thinking of getting two 12"s bc they are fairly cheap and come in a box already.. is this a good deal or no?

maybe i was over exaggerating when i said i want the highest possible sq..

i just want my system to sound clean enough so that the subs don't drown out my music

Well if that 350 dollars for both of those subwoofers and box is true, that price is decent I would say.

You would probably be satisfied with their sound quality.

From my experience the L7's sound best in about 1.4 cubes sealed for each driver. It offers a nice mix of SPL and SQ without eating up tons of space.

so would the box in the ebay link above work well?

or would a vented box be better?

I would say that the sealed box would probably be the best choice in your case.

Lanzar vibe 1200d. Looks kinda cheesy, but puts out a true 1200w into 1ohm, and costs around 250 dollars.

Are you set on the Kickers.

For about $100 dollars less these subs will sound alot better than the L7's and should be close in terms of output in a sealed application

    http://ikesound.com/product-product_id/1535

+ 50 or so for an enclosure. (i'm on 28K dial up right now so i can't really search)

The L7's do leave something to be desired in terms of SQ. However if you listen to mainly rap music it will matter very little.

i do basically just listen to rap.. occasionally i listen to dashboard confessional, yellowcard, brand new, and bands like that..

so those phoenix titaniums are as good as the l7s?

i couldn't find an enclosure online though?

From a sound quality stand point they are alot better. In a sealed application they should be close. The L7 does have more cone area (about 18% i belieive) but the Titanium gives you rougly 36% more one way exursion. In theroy the PG sub should displace more air in a sealed application.

I've also seen a whole lot of L7's with fried coils. A whole lot.
