the keyboard works before xp starts up, but when xp starts, it stops working, I have tried deleting the keyboard in in device settings in computer management, and it found it when rebooted, but still doesnt work. I have also deleted all startup programs in msconfig. I can think of anything else? any ideas?

btw, the keyboard did work when the computer left my house on saturday, now it is in austin, and all this was done over the phone.

    is it USB or PS2?

try using another keyboard and seeing if it still gives you problems.

here is what happened, when we switched to a usb mouse (from ps2), there was a conflict of some sort, so I disabled the ps2 mouse in the device manager(wasnt able to uninstall it), and now it all works.
