    Alright I am definitely not the only person having this issue from what I've read on the Apple support forums and shit. But nobody has any real solutions that work. And the fucking thing works fine in Vista, this has to be some sort of software issue.

    Code:
    3/19/09 5:41:07 PM	kernel	AppleUSBMultitouchDriver::message - kIOUSBMessagePortHasBeenReset.

    ...I have those messages GALORE in the system log. Sometimes it'll work fine for hours, when I was trying to finish a paper the other day it kept happening every five fucking minutes. Works fine with an external keyboard/mouse combo. That isn't portable though. And it doesn't explain why I've never had the keyboard/trackpad freeze issues in Vista, either.

    For the love of FUCK, somebody please have an idea about this. The Apple bulletin keyboard updates apparently don't apply to my model MBP. I'm at a loss.

    ...and those messages are WITHOUT the external keyboard/mouse plugged in, and without any other USB devices attached to the system. After it fails, I can plug in my mouse, check out the hardware profiler, and the keyboard/track-pad aren't even listed as being attached to the laptop any more.

    What the fuck.

    Two of my keys stopped working mysteriously on my MBP, the "e" key and th TAB key. It's annoying and I'm not sure what the cause is.

    Damn, I am having the same issue. At first I thought it was because I was using my MBP plugged in with the battery removed, but this shit started happening with the battery installed. :mad:

    i'm going to guess that you tried to do the 10.5.6 "fix" for putting your iphone in DFU mode.

    well if that's the case you didn't do it right and it hosed your USB.
