It's a lengthy discussion about the differences between the book, minor gripes, shit about the soundtrack and stuff about the book.

He admittedly sucked the cock of the film for about an hour and a half.

He understood the changes and accepted that somethings just wouldn't work on film.

Had a beef with the musical selection for the sex scene... when some pointed out it was a little on the graphic side, he pointed out that originally Alan Moore's sex scene was edgy and pushed boundaries because it was in a comic, and this pushed the boundaries as well.

The best point he made was that Zack Snyder was fucked from the moment he was named director. There would always be a group that would hate anything he did, whether or not he cut out a scene or left one in. Smith said there would always be complaining and it was something Snyder couldn't escape.

He said it was the best Watchmen film we would probably ever get, and we should be happy that no one will try to touch it again and fuck it up.

Most of the other guys, Smith included felt that Billy Crudup's portrayal of Jon was awesome and very underrated. Jackie Earle Haley being the best portrayal ever, and that no other actor should even try to be Rorschach.

They felt that the change in the ending made the most sense, but time didn't all us to see and become attached to the other characters in NY like we did in the book.

Some felt some scenes were too violent, others argued it made sense. They all felt that towards the end, that the movie got less violent while the comic book had more gore and death. Smith pointed out using the octopus ending with all the dead bodies in NY wouldn't work as well or would be too soon in a post 9/11 world.

Lots of other good shit, definitely give it a listen if you have free time.

Just listened to the whole thing, very good conversation/interview. Smith is hilarious and I agreed with pretty much everything he said.

Glad he wasn't elitist about it. But he totally understands, being both a writer and a director.
