MMA Kettlebells

    My gym has a Kettlebell class now on Wednesday night and Saturday mornings. My legs are so tired this morning. We're on our second workout schedule right now, and we'll be doing it for a few more weeks before changing up again. Workout lasts about 45 minutes before another 2 hours of kickboxing after.

    Workout for yesterday was:

    8 swinging clean, squat, then press (each arm)
    8 swinging snatches (each arm)
    8 swings then deep squats
    8 swinging snatches (each arm)
    8 rolling deep squats
    24 sideways walking swings
    10 Divebomber pushups

    That is one circuit. We did 3 circuits.

    Then finished with 5 minutes straight of regular swinging.

    About a minute rest between each circuit and before the 5 minutes of swinging. Otherwise it's almost 45 minutes straight of work.




    With a workout that long, we obviously train with lighter weight for cardio and endurance. Fuck it's hard.
    edit: I fogot to add the divebomber pushups as part of the circuit, but those don't use the kb's.

    Yeah I have one kettlebell I use for crossfit, I want to do a kettlebell class bad!!!

    yea and kb's rock.. i bought 25lb ones cos i didnt know i should get 35.. i feel like a woman

    I worked out with a 26lb one last night and I'm 220lbs. When we do heavy lifting I use 44lb.... but I wouldn't last one circuit with that much during the workout I posted. :rofl:

    My instructor loves coming up with new, harder workouts. Last night he said "This workout is designed for only one workout, but I never like doing just one". So we did three. :wtc:

    yea I still get a good workout from them.. but everything i read says avg male should start with 35.. shoulda read more before buying.. them things aint cheap..

    Really depends on how you work. Try doing what I posted, you'll be glad you started with 26.

    yea i def will.. how long does it take? i gotta look up some of those.. dont even know what some of them are.. crossfit.com has some good kb stuff..

    I'll try to find some info on them, otherwise maybe I'll make a short vid tonight.

    Like I said, we worked for about 45 min, but we spent about 10 minutes going over technique for new people. Our Kettlebell class has gotten huge... there were about 16 people there last night.
