Can anyone point me in the direction of good information pertaining to ketogenic dieting? I feel like everything I have found on the net contradicts one another and I am just looking for a few good resources.

Do most people take Flax seed oil as a source of healthy fat? I was considering maybe doing some kind of daily shake with protein, flax seed.

For some reason I was under the assumption that Peanut butter was a no no but... it seems like I see otherwise looking around the net.

i'm not on a ketogenic diet, but i add 2-3 tsp of berry flavored metamucil to my protein shakes. chocolate berry + extra thickness ftw

you can also add straight psyllium fiber to your shakes - there's a bit more carbs but a negligible amount

PB isn't forbidden but you have to be careful with it, it's not carb free.

I was sub-30 carbs/day, ~140g of protein, the rest fats up to 1800 calories. Had pretty good results, would do it again if i wasn't traveling so much lately.

Ive been taking 3 servings of benefiber a day. It helps a bit.

I am mostly looking for a good source of unsaturated fat. It seems I am eating mostly saturated which I don't think is a good move.

I believe that I have been sub 20 carbs/day. I need to start counting macros to get a good idea of what my diet looks like on paper.

fish oil is more useful than flax, but there's no way you're going to ingest a significant amount of it.

Olive oil may help. Getting at least some green vegetables is a good idea.

Today is like day 5. Day 1 i felt fine. Day 2 and 3 I felt fuzzy, had a headache, really bad metallic taste in my mouth, achey, and couldn't sleep. Yesterday was Day 4 and I started to feel a lot more normal and energized and today I have felt fine so far.

For me, eventual ratios were more like 40% cals from fat, 60% from protein (trace carbs obviously). I did start with the ratios flip-flopped to begin with and adjusted down to that.

Count macros like your life depends on it. Sucks to be rolling along in ketosis and eat something you thought was fine, but actually had enough carbs to push you over the edge.

It's funny. Some people can't do it; they just feel like absolute shit. I didn't feel any different at all, except that metallic taste in my mouth and maybe a little less energy in the gym.

It's tough because I am really not sure how many carbs I can get away with. I ate some broccoli today which contains like 4 grams per serving. I feel wrong cutting out greens completely but, I dont want to risk slipping out of ketosis.

Has anyone else used the Keto sticks? Should I consider getting them. I have heard that your body will adjust and eventually even though no ketones show in urine, you can still be in ketosis.

you can eat infinite broccoli and be fine. broccoli also has fat and fiber.
throw some olive oil on that shit.
if you miss milk w/ your protein shakes, try coconut milk drink. they sell it at whole foods in the milk aisle next to the soy milk. barely has any taste. 65% MCT.

I used them, got them from CVS they were cheap compared to the mom and pop drug store here in town. When I asked the guy in Walgreens if they had them he looked at me like I was making it up. LOL
