kernel panic

    getting a kernel panic on boot now with my G4 power mac. I've tried booting from the tiger install disc but nothing happens. for some reason it will boot into OS 9 from the original discs that came with the computer though. I have no idea what the hell is going on with this thing. maybe it's time for a fresh install.

    kernal panics usually come from failing hardware...bad/failing ram is usually the case...

    I'm scared it's the hdd controller. I guess I'll have to guess and check.

    Re-seat RAM, make sure to pull battery while you do it (if you can get to it without pulling it).
