Renzo Gracie vs. Frank Shamrock confirmed Two great stars of the worldwide fight scene face off in February Yet another great MMA classic has been put on the calendar: Renzo Gracie and Frank Shamrock will face each other in the event "Show Time", scheduled for the 10th of February, in Tennessee, USA. Lately, things have been exciting for the Gracie. After his victory over Pat Miletich in the IFL, in September, Renzo spent two months preparing his cousin Roger for his victory on the 2nd, against Ron Waterman, at Bodog Fight. On the 29th of this month, he will fight in the IFL's main event, against Carlos Newton, in Connecticut. And, if that is not enough, he signed an agreement to face Shamrock, one of the greatest champions in the history of the UFC. Displeased with the current owners of the UFC, Shamrock has not stepped into the octagon since 1999, when he defeated Tito Ortiz in an epic battle. Since then, the San Jose local had three official fights, one in 2000, another in 2003, and his latest victory was over Renzo's cousin, Cesar, in March of this year. Currently, the fighter is, as is his adversary, one of the coaches at the IFL -- he trains the Razor Claws. The Pitbulls' coach is seeing his popularity soar. Last Sunday, Renzo was the main character of the piece on MMA shown by the respected television journal 60 Minutes on CBS. In the report, the Jiu-Jitsu instructor defends fighting, in the broad sense of the word, as one of human beings' greatest characteristics, and says that a technical fight involves such technique that it "makes a Russian ballet seem uncoordinated."
