as in taking a gun to the atf when they come knocking on your door telling you it is now illegal to own firearms.

    or one step simpler...

overthrowing the government when it no longer functions as intended, as outlined in the constitution.

You mean a revolution? I don't know. That'd be a tough one. I have kids that I'd like to see grow up. I guess it would depend on what we were rebelling against exactly. If it was something that would ruin our lives and the lives of our children, then I really don't think I'd have a choice. Where to draw the line, I have no idea. It would probably take some sort of huge event.

I would, screw then trying to disarm me. Its a right just as much as the other rights. I have a nice stockpile of ammo, it would last awhile

    thats rather vague..

    be a little more specific.

if all guns were made illegal one day, and they were actually enforcing it, I might get a little group together and do something about it

    here's my take on it.

if one day guns were banned and all had to be turned in, i'd probably pack them all with grease, wrap them in wax paper and bury them somewhere.

except for my P22. which i'd just let them take.

barring some sort of installment of a totalitarian government and people getting sent off to death camps or whatever, i wouldn't answer the door with a 12 gauge and go down in a firey battle of stupidity if they just wanted to take the guns away.

...granted, confiscating firearms could be a precursor to said gov't.

they'd be stored away from everybody until they were actually needed.

in essence, i share the same view that Gimik does.

IMO if it gets to the point you have to cache them its time to make the decision to use them or just hand them in...

so singlehandedly use your weapons of choice?

or divy up your collection between you and your neighbors?

or wait until there's some sort of organized resistance movement...

Its a tin foil hat persons wet dream, there won't be a gun collection day. Your right to keep arms is being stolen from you incrimentally. How many gun owners think that the controls over class 3 weapons is outragous? How many people get angry over registration or mandatory training, or being fingerprinted? How many riots were there in california when "assault weapons" were banned? How many people life in states that limit magazine capacity. If there is another assault weapons ban gun owners will be more worried about if they can get what they have grandfathered in more than stopping it. How many times do you hear gun owners say "that sounds reasonable" when we talk about gun control?

Its easy to take peoples gun, you just do it slowly and before you know it everyone has registered singleshot .22's. I think the class 3 weapons and states assault weapons bans are just the shining example.

But whate kind of future would that gov't be leading into for your kids?

Rather have your kids grow up under a totalitarian gov't?

basically what i'm trying to get at...

it seems as though the majority of the "from my cold dead hands" crowd are interested in strapping on bandoleirs of ammo, grabbing their "SHTF" gear, rolling out in their "BOV" and going at the droves of gestapo with their hellfire trigger kit.

methinks a complete overthrowing of democracy and installation of said gov't would be classified as a "huge event."

I would honestly have no problem doing this. I'd prefer if Hilary Clinton came personally to attempt to take them though.

Get a group together and it'd be fun. Hole up. Scopes+ 30 cals = win. Plus a couple other items...

so a .30 hunting rifle with optics + a couple of similarly armed buddies with maybe a couple molotov cocktails?

you're going to hole up somewhere?

what's that going to do other than isolate you from any sort of supply and make it easier for you to either be starved or blown out of wherever you are?
